Short bios
Duco Oranje entered practice at the Dutch Bar in 1985. He had an extensive international law practice, involving arbitration, insolvency, corporate law and banking law. He also acted as an arbitrator in various international ICC arbitrations. Currently a judge in the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, he deals with commercial matters, mainly corporate and banking. He is the president of the NCC Court of Appeal.
Lincoln Frakes was in private practice in Amsterdam, focusing on banking, commercial and energy litigation. He has served as a judge in the Amsterdam District Court since 2008 (by designation from 2017 to the present), dealing with a range of contractual, corporate and insolvency cases. He is currently a judge in the s-Hertogenbosch Court of Appeal and serves as president of the NCC District Court.
Mieke Dudok van Heel was in private practice in Amsterdam and in private practice and in house in London, focusing on banking, securities, corporate and M&A work. She joined the Amsterdam District Court in 2008, overseeing a broad range of business, corporate, insolvency and competition litigation. She currently serves as a senior judge in summary proceedings and in the NCC District Court.
Rieme-Jan Tjittes served as a Court of Appeal judge and is currently a litigation, arbitration and Supreme Court lawyer based in The Hague, with a broad practice including post-M&A, contract termination, energy and construction. He frequently serves as an arbitrator. He has written extensively on business law and is a leading authority on commercial contracts. He joined the NCC District Court (by designation) in 2019.
